A new shape, a new cake. I tried my new silicone flower tray, making something very simple and good for coffee in the morning. Yes, you will say that I make a lot of desserts that go for coffee in the morning, but for me that means the perfect breakfast :).
- 2 eggs
- 100 gr sugar
- 175 gr flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- a pinch of salt
- 50 gr grated chocolate
- 50 gr dark chocolate
- 2 tablespoons whipped cream
- 2 tablespoons ground walnuts
- a few small pieces of roasted walnuts

RECIPE PREPARATION "Flower" cake with chocolate and walnut:
Mix the egg whites with a pinch of salt. Add the sugar, mixing for a few more minutes, then gradually add the yolks, oil and milk, mixing after each one. Then add the flour mixed with baking powder, and finally add the grated chocolate.
Pour the composition in a greased form with a little oil (only at the first use we put oil, then it can be used without anything) and put in the preheated oven at 175 degrees for about 25-30 minutes.
Remove from the oven, let it cool a bit, then turn the top over on a plate.
Melt the chocolate together with the whipped cream on a steam bath and grease the cake with hot icing.
Sprinkle ground walnuts on top and place a piece of fried walnut on the edges.

I heated the cherry jam in a bowl of water over low heat, then strained the syrup. I kept the syrup for a tart recipe.
I chopped the chocolate into small pieces.
I sifted the flour together with the baking powder.

In a bowl, I melted the butter with 1 teaspoon oil, chopped chocolate 2 tablespoons sugar, cocoa and a pinch of salt.
The chocolate was a little sweet and no more sugar was needed.
I stirred continuously until they all melted and homogenized, then I incorporated 3 yolks and I lifted them off the heat. I let it cool.
I separated the egg whites from the yolks and beat them with a teaspoon of salt, then I gradually added 6 tablespoons of sugar, the three remaining egg yolks and the yogurt. I mixed lightly with a wooden spatula.
From the composition with cooled chocolate, I separated half for garnish, and the other half I incorporated it in egg whites, putting a little of them over the chocolate and stirring slowly so as not to leave the composition at all, it is still left, it is not preserved fluffy like pandispan or cakes.
Then I incorporated chopped walnuts and flour mixed with baking powder.
The composition is a little thicker than the cakes, but don't be afraid that it is not so fluffy, but it will grow nicely in the tray.
I wallpapered a 20/30 cm tray and baked at 180 degrees for 40 minutes.
In the stopped chocolate composition, I mixed the cherries from the jam and decorated the cake when it cooled.

After all, the name of this delicious cake with leaves filled with jam and walnuts doesn't really matter much.
I ate this cake a few times when I was little. My friend's mother did it and it turned out very well. I would have eaten the whole platter on my own, but being a shy child, I said I was content with 2 cubes.
I hoped that one day my mother would make me a Jerbo cake (Greta Garbo), but this only happened after I met my mother-in-law and I finally found out the recipe. I still don't know why my mother didn't ask our neighbor how to make Greta Garbo cake.
It is very easy to do. I am very happy that I can share the recipe of a cake with sheets, which are all made at the same time. We do not have to bake separately. Grease the first sheet with jam and sprinkle with walnuts, then cover everything with another sheet and repeat the operation. As I said, it's not hard at all. The only thing that needs to be done separately, in the end, is the glaze.
There is no risk that the Jerbo cake will not come out first, not even for a beginner.
My mother-in-law explained to me that this recipe is simpler than others, and I didn't even have the curiosity to compare it, to see if she was right, because it seemed very easy to prepare.
Before the revolution, my mother-in-law used to make cake with margarine Rama for cakes and very rarely with lard. I understood that he had margarine from those who somehow managed to get to Hungary or from friends. I chose to use fatty butter, 80% fat, because it is healthier and I love butter in cakes.

To make the sheets, mix all the ingredients until you get a smooth and elastic dough.
We divide it into 4 equal parts that we will spread in thin sheets of 22 * 32 cm.
Put the first sheet in the tray lined with baking paper. Grease it with 3 tablespoons of plum jam, then sprinkle 60 g of ground walnuts, and spread a spoonful of caster sugar over the walnuts as evenly as possible.
Cover with a sheet that we will grease with apricot jam.
We repeat the operation with walnuts, sugar and another sheet that will be greased with plum jam and walnuts. We prick the last sheet evenly with a fork.
Bake the cake in the preheated oven at 180 ° C for about 30 minutes or until it passes the toothpick test.
Heat the oil and water together until it becomes hot, then gradually add the sugar mixed with cocoa and mix until smooth. We have to work fast, so that when we spread the icing so that it is not cold, it can be spread evenly. Optionally, over this we put chopped walnuts.

Dream cake with walnuts and chocolate icing
- Put the dark chocolate in the microwave for a minute and a half, it can be melted in a bain marie.
- Add the oil (50 ml) and mix.
- Melt the white chocolate in a bain marie or microwave oven (50 seconds) and mix it with the oil (20 ml).

This flower cake with Nutella has been appearing on the internet lately. It made me a curious recipe, so I followed it. I found the idea very interesting, as well as the way the cake is woven and made. I am convinced that you have seen at least one clip of American origin with this cake, especially because many of you have asked me for the recipe. It is an easy dessert to make, very fluffy and tasty. I love it, especially since I'm a big Nutella fan.
But what I didn't like about this flower cake with Nutella was the dough recipe. In the video, a French muffin dough is made, ie a dough similar to that of sweet bread. But it was extremely strong, it seemed even stronger than bread. I was not at all pleased with this because I knew that the result would not be fluffy and would not keep soft the next day. In other recipes, even a dough was used for the pizza, just as inappropriate. So I set to work and said I would make my own dough for this flower cake.
First we prepare the countertop. Mix the egg whites with a pinch of salt until they become foam. Add the sugar gradually, alternating with hot water mixing at high speed. Then add the yolks and oil, stirring constantly. At the end we incorporate sifted flour, mixed with baking powder and then ground walnuts.
We pour the obtained composition in a tray (25 & # 21535 cm) lined with baking paper. Bake the top for 30-35 minutes at 175 ° C.
After it is baked, take it out on a grill and leave it to cool. When it is completely cold, we cut it in half. It's not a tall countertop, so cut it carefully.
*If you do it the day before, it will cut much easier.
The cream is very easy to prepare. Melt the sugar in a saucepan until it gets a nice color, being careful not to burn it. Add the hot water carefully and let it boil until the caramel has dissolved. Let the syrup set aside to cool.
Separately mix the egg with the 3 tablespoons of sugar, incorporate the flour and caramel syrup. Simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
After turning off the heat, add the diced butter and mix until smooth. We give the cream cold and we stop a few spoons in the decoration (I put about 6 spoons, around 70 g).
In a bowl, mix the liquid cream until it starts to harden. Then add the caramel cream, little by little, mixing continuously.
*I tried twice to prepare cream with whipped cream in the idea of not using vegetables but the cream was cut.
In a non-stick pan, fry the walnuts without burning them. Then we transfer them on a wooden lid and chop them bigger or smaller, according to preference.
Now we can assemble the cake.
On the first top, spread three parts of the cream evenly, place the second top, the rest of the cream and decorate with the fried walnuts and the caramel set aside.
Let the cake cool for at least 2-3 hours, then we can cut it. I assure you that the delicious cake with walnuts and caramel is a real delight. Try it and you will be convinced! Good appetite!
