To enjoy a real Mexican tortilla, you first need the following ingredients:

- 2 teaspoons of baking powder

The preparation method is as follows:

Mix, in a bowl, flour, baking powder and salt. Add the lard and mix everything until it looks like a crumbly crust. Then, over the obtained dough, pour hot water, to obtain a crust with a soft, uniform texture. Put a little flour and knead it, so that, at the end, you get a ball of dough that comes off easily from the walls of the bowl. This dough should be left to rise for about an hour. For this purpose, cover the bowl in which he is with a towel and leave it near a heat source.

When the time has passed, knead the crust once more, then divide it into 10 or even 12 equal pieces. Then, sprinkle the flour on a plate and spread the pieces of dough with a rolling pin, giving them, as much as possible, a round shape. To bake them, use a round tray or a frying pan, both hot. Let them bake for about 2 minutes on each side or until they no longer look like raw dough.

Once you have prepared the tortilla, you can fill it with various ingredients, such as chicken, salad, pickles or fresh vegetables and spicy sauces, making a delicious burrito.

Breakfast tortilla

Since Luca goes to school online, breakfast has become a tradition. We used to leave the house at 6:30 for school and on the weekends we still didn't all fit in for breakfast. Now, both children are home in the morning and are always looking for new recipes for the first meal of the day! The breakfast tortilla is extremely versatile and easy to prepare! You can fill it with whatever you like and it's ready in 5 minutes on the grill or in the pan!

Breakfast tortilla - what else can we use for the filling?

Given that we practically have four quarters of tortilla that we have to "fill", I propose some nice combinations:

  • cottage cheese + honey on a quarter, then on the other chocolate cream with hazelnuts, banana slices, strawberry slices
  • natural cream cheese, liver pate, tomato slices, grated cheese
  • peanut butter, slices of caspune, strawberry jam, cream cheese

All the necessary ingredients for the Breakfast Tortilla recipe are waiting for you in LIDL stores!

Ingredients for 6 servings of Tortilla for breakfast:

  • 6 tortilla Snack Day
  • 6 tablespoons salsa Snack Day
  • 6 tablespoons Milbona cheese mix
  • 6 tablespoons Goldessa cream cheese
  • 6 slices of Dulano ham
  • 6 slices Jamon Serrano Dulano
  • 2 green onion threads
  • 2 cloves green garlic
  • red bell peppers
  • yellow bell peppers

Divide the tortilla visually into 4 quarters and make a single cut, in half.

On each quarter of the tortilla we put the favorite ingredients: tomato salsa, which can be sweet or spicy, depending on your preferences. We can replace it with guacamole, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise.

Grease another quarter of the breakfast tortilla with cream cheese and sprinkle with green onions, fresh garlic, finely chopped bell peppers.

We are going to put grated cheese on a quarter and our favorite sausages on the last.

Fold the tortilla into 4, following the cut I made initially.

Fry the tortilla for breakfast in a pan greased with a little olive oil or fry it on the grill.

Mexican quesadilla

Mexican quesadilla, quick and delicious recipe. How to make a Mexican quesadilla. Quesadilla, ingredients and how to prepare step by step, with pictures.

Quesadilla is part of that category of simple and extremely ingenious dishes that turn leftovers from the fridge into a new and irresistible food. Honestly, I don't think this recipe has any other origin than the ingenuity of a housewife who decided to use some leftover food from the kitchen to offer the hungry family something delicious and fast. It goes perfectly with a lettuce, a Mexican salsa, cream or a delicious guacamole.

Quesadilla has two basic parts: tortilla and stuffing. Traditionally, tortilla is made from cornmeal. After the Spanish conquest of the New World, the wheat flour tortilla also appeared under European influence.

The basic filling for quesadilla is cheese, easy to deduce from the very name of the preparation, cheese means cheese. If, in addition to cheese, you decide to add boiled or fried meat, cut or broken into strips, it is your choice, there is nothing wrong but it is not mandatory.

Doing a search on which type of cheese would be more suitable for quesadilla, I concluded that you can use any cheese, cheese that has the ability to melt and spread. In addition to cheese, you can put whatever ingredients you want and have at hand. I put raw vegetables. They can also be cooked before being added to the filling, but I preferred to put them raw, hoping for a pleasant contrast between the melted cheese and the vegetables. I confess that my expectations have not been deceived, on the contrary.

I would have liked to add some corn in my quesadilla and I prepared all the ingredients at hand, in small bowls, including the grains from a can of sweet corn, well drained of liquid. By the time I returned twice through the kitchen, two notorious greedy people, whom I was wondering why I didn't say a word, made the corn disappear! So, my dear ones, I will ask you to imagine that there is corn in my quesadilla, although only my boys enjoyed it.

About the origins of guacamole sauce

Wikipedia tells us briefly: & # 8222Guacamole it's a sauce from Mesoamerica, made from avocados. The word comes from the Spanish language of avocados and moles (avocado and sauce) which in turn come from the Nahuatl language, from the word Ahuacamolli (ahuacatl → avocado → avocado molli → mole → sos). The sauce consists of avocado paste and water to which spices are added. & # 8221

English wiki page gives us more information about the Aztec origin of the sauce and about the traditional method of preparing it in mortar with pistil (molcajete). The pulp of the avocado fruit is crushed with the help of the pistil and the coarse salt, being transformed into a not very fine paste. Guacamole can stay with larger pieces of avocado.

The list of guacamole ingredients varies from one region of Mexico to another and I found that it can contain, in addition to avocados and diced tomatoes, chili peppers or jalapeno, lemon or lime juice, finely chopped onion, a little garlic and greens. & # 8211 especially green coriander and / or green parsley. I have a pot of green coriander but in our country it is quite rare to buy. In addition, its strong aroma is not tolerated by everyone (it is said to smell like a slap). It is best to put less coriander and more green parsley.

Some recipes also provide boiled and crushed peas or even sour cream.

From the ingredients below I obtained approx. 3-4 servings of guacamole (it is calculated about 1 avocado for 2 people).
